ITBP Constable Details’
Constable (General Duty)
Responsible for patrolling and border security duties in high-altitude areas.
Maintain peace and order during natural calamities or national emergencies.
Assist in disaster relief operations and other special duties as assigned.
Head Constable (Telecommunication/Combatant Ministerial)
Handle communication equipment and ensure the seamless transmission of data across field units.
Maintain telecommunication lines for efficient communication during operations.
Assist in clerical and administrative tasks within the unit.
Sub-Inspector (General Duty/Telecommunication)
Supervise constables and head constables in maintaining operational readiness.
Lead teams in border patrolling and other security-related duties.
Coordinate telecommunication efforts and field operations effectively.
Assistant Commandant
Lead and manage an entire battalion or unit in various high-risk security operations.
Implement strategies for efficient border management and internal security operations.
Coordinate with senior officials and contribute to planning and execution of national security strategies.

Border Security

Assist state and central governments in maintaining law and order during critical situations such as riots, protests, or insurgencies.
Disaster Management:
Provide assistance during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, etc. The ITBP is also engaged in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions.
Counter-Insurgency Operations.
Conduct counter-insurgency operations in conflict-affected areas, assisting the Indian government in maintaining peace and neutralizing threats to national security.
Community Assistance Programs:
Participate in initiatives aimed at developing relationships with local communities in border regions. Engage in programs such as medical camps, educational outreach, and developmental assistance.
Training and Preparedness:
Undergo regular physical and tactical training to stay combat-ready. Continuously develop skills in mountaineering, disaster management, first-aid, and weapon handling.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age:
For Constables: 18 to 23 years.
For Sub-Inspector and Head Constable: 20 to 25 years.
For Assistant Commandant: 23 to 28 years.
Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualifications:
Constable: 10th pass from a recognized board.
Head Constable: 10+2 pass and relevant qualifications for the specific trade.
Sub-Inspector: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or technical qualifications as applicable.
Assistant Commandant: Bachelor’s degree with leadership and organizational experience preferred.
Physical Standards:
