Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Patrol Premises: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect signs of intrusion, suspicious activity, or potential safety hazards.
- Access Control: Enforce entry and exit procedures, check identification, and monitor access points to prevent unauthorized access.
- Surveillance Monitoring: Observe security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
- Incident Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, such as theft, vandalism, fire, or medical incidents, and notify emergency services when necessary.
- Report Writing: Document security incidents, suspicious activities, and any safety hazards in detailed reports for management review.
- Customer Service: Assist employees, visitors, and clients by providing information, directions, or escorting them when necessary.
- Enforce Rules and Regulations: Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or disturbances in a professional manner, using de-escalation techniques when required.
- Emergency Preparedness: Participate in safety drills, provide first aid or CPR if trained, and assist in evacuation procedures.
- Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Work closely with police, fire departments, or other emergency responders in case of criminal activities or critical incidents.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security-related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience as a security guard, law enforcement officer, or in a similar role preferred.
- Valid security guard license and certifications as required by local or state laws.
- Strong observational and surveillance skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and act decisively in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand for long periods, patrol large areas, and respond quickly to incidents.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR is an advantage.
- Familiarity with security systems, alarm monitoring, and access control devices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
Work Environment:
- The Security Guard may be required to work indoors or outdoors, depending on the assignment.
Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays, requiring flexibility in scheduling.
- The role may involve exposure to various weather conditions and potentially stressful or dangerous situations.
- The position may require standing, walking, or patrolling for extended periods.
