Governor’s visit to violence-affected areas?
It is worth mentioning that violence did take place in many parts of Bengal during the protest against the Act passed by the Parliament. According to Thursday’s edition of the Statesman, Bose will go to Malda to get information around that area which was hit by fighting. Upon arriving at the Circuit House the Governor will travel to Murshidabad where he will oversleep until noon. Now, let some good leader come back again.
Deployment of central security forces on the orders of the High Court?
Some households whose lives have been shattered by violence move to Jharkhand’s Pakur district or, of West Bengal’s Nadia. West Bengal’s Maldad was visited by many families who came to be in temporary places of shelter. Receiving the case, Calcutta High Court requested central forces for security reasons. SIT formed to investigate violence?
During a two-day rush of violence that erupted on 11-12 April in opposition to the Waqf Act, Five areas of the district were involved. Seven people died (all but two in Suti) and 68 were injured. A nine-member SIT has been set up to investigate the violence.

The SIT consists of an additional superintendent of police (intelligence branch), two deputy superintendents – one from the Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) and the other from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) – five inspectors (including four from CID and one from traffic police), and the officer in charge of the cyber crime police station underneath Sundarbans police district
