The Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement for the 12th consecutive night in several sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. The government had directed 244 districts identified as civil defence zones to conduct mock drills on May 7 in view of the ongoing developments after the Pakistan Air Force (PAG) and Pakistan Air Force (PAG) attack on the Kashmir Valley. For this, they were given a list of instructions right down to the village level. The order comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a series of high-level security reviews in Delhi.

As the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting began behind closed doors amid India-Pakistan tensions, the global body’s chief Antonio Guterres warned that relations between the two countries have deteriorated, while a senior official called for maximum restraint.
“We do not want tension, war or instability in the region,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said during a visit to Islamabad. “We urge all parties to exercise restraint and not act in a way that could escalate tensions and [worsen] the situation in the region,” he added. He also plans to be in New Delhi this week.
