9- Allowances given to TTE in Railways
A. Dearness Allowance (DA): 1 percent of basic pay, which is revised from time to time (currently can be up to about 50%).
B. House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10% to 30% depending on the city (as per X, Y, Z class cities).
C. Travel Allowance: TTE gets additional allowance during travel.
D. Other allowances – Medical facility, pension scheme and railway pass.
E. In-hand salary: After adding all the allowances and making deductions (like NPS, tax), the starting in-hand salary is around Rs 36,000 to Rs 45,000 per month.
